The Softest Sugar Cookie You Will Ever Eat

I've kept this recipe a secret until now.

3 eggs
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. margarine
1 c. sour cream (low fat is fine)
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
1 heaping tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 3/4 c. granulated sugar
5 c. flour

Cream shortening, margarine and sugar. Add eggs and beat until creamy. Add salt, soda, baking powder and vanilla. Mix. Add flour, 1 cup at a time, alternating with spoonfuls of sour cream. Mix thoroughly. Chill for several hours, or overnight. Roll on floured surface and cut into desired shapes. Bake at 375 degrees for 7-8 minutes. DON'T OVER BAKE! COOKIE SHOULD NOT GET BROWN. Frost with cream cheese frosting. This cookie freezes well and stays soft.

Cream cheese frosting:

12 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. margarine, softened
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 lb. powdered sugar
desired food coloring

Mix well and spread thick on cookies.

These cookies literally melt in your mouth. Which is a good thing, but also very bad.
